SHEROES

Hi I’m Jaineshaa Naheta,
A grade 12 student from Aditya Birla World Academy, Mumbai.

Acid attack survivors have a difficult time being accepted into society, let alone finding work. Their trauma is made much more difficult by a culture that restricts their development. However in Agra snd Lucknow, ‘Sheroes Hangout’ has two branches that accommodate and employ 30 survivors to help them lead their lives to the fullest.

The pandemic, has not been kind, and after being forced to close the cafes due to lockdown restrictions they need our help financially now more than ever.

While doing my IGCSE Art project, I had the opportunity to interact with the acid attack survivors from the Sheroes Agra Hangout. I spoke with Geeta Ji, and her daughter who opened up to me about their painful story. Having acid thrown on her and her young daughters by her husband truly changed her life, and while their stories were heartbreaking, their strength and courage was even more inspirational.

I have been determined to provide support to them in my own little way, using my art to create paintings and graphics to help these brave women.

I am trying to raise awareness and gather funds for a new initiative SHEROES 2.0. To open a kiosk at the Noida International Stadium and provide employment for 6 more acid attack survivors.

I urge you to help me support them.
Any donation no matter how large or small is helpful.

The donation made by you will be used for the Sheroes 2.0 Initiative through the Chhanv foundation.
