Know Me

I

’m Jaineshaa Naheta, A 17 year old dog lover, Formula 1 and cricket fanatic. I’m one of the few people who actually likes the sound of cars racing at 200 kmph. It’s my white noise.

I’m an oddball in my family, in the fact they’re terrified of dogs, and even though they still aren’t convinced to get one, I’m not about to stop trying any day soon. Luckily I found WSD, The Welfare for Stray Dogs facility, where I volunteer and get to spend hours with the dogs. It is such a delight to walk them, bathe them, and play with them, and the cute selfies are an added bonus.

I’m currently finishing my A levels programme at Aditya Birla World Academy Mumbai, focusing my studies in Math, Economics, Physics and English.

During my high school years, I’ve discovered my love for Economics. The brilliance of it, from the behavioural economics of social media, and the nudge theory to the more stereotypical economics of markets and trade. Nevertheless, what really intrigues me is the infusion of math with these theories that equips me with quantitive models to analyse real world problems.

Its a cliche to say this but my 12 years at ABWA have been a wondrous roller coaster ride. From playing competitive inter school basketball with my team year on year , to participating in our annual concerts, dancing with fervour and zeal, illustrating for the school newsletter, and going on the adventurous Edutours. It’s been a journey learning every step of the way.

My flair for writing goes beyond school English, writing detailed descriptive essays and occasionally dabbling in poetry as well. Taking a step forward in this direction I’ve completed my Trinity Speech and Drama Examinations, Grade 1-5 with distinctions, building on my communication skills.

I am also a student of the Indian classical Odissi Dance. An aspect of my life that has taught me discipline. It has trained me to strengthen my mental and physical fitness, training my head, neck and body to move in sync , learn intricate mudras (hand gestures), memorise complex sequences, and build stamina for dances that last up to 15 minutes each.

My creative juices also flow through my art, my love for sketching, painting and just anything creative. I use my art to convey stories and spread awareness about causes close to my heart.

I recently interned for a month at Corporate Database in equity research. This was a very enriching experience where I developed my skills for financial analysis.

I also had the opportunity to intern at Netcore Cloud-Software Company for 3 weeks where I had a first hand experience to create content for Internatinal clients for running strategic ads and create story boards as part of digital marketing.

That’s me in a nutshel..!
